ALAYNA's NEWS
APRIL 2010 via email
Dear Friends and Family,
Last year, after Alayna was diagnosed with leukemia, we were introduced to the wonderful people at The Tomorrow Fund. The Tomorrow Fund is the only local, non-profit organization that provides daily emotional and financial support to children with cancer and their families. They have truly saved us in this past year.
On Sunday, April 25th, our family will be participating in their Annual Stroll. This year we are forming TEAM ALAYNA and would be honored if you would join us for this fun, low-key day. Each loop is only 1/3 of a mile so you can walk as little or as much as you choose. There is free coffee and donuts before the walk and entertainment and refreshments after. There is also plenty of activities going on for all ages. We are also working to put together a spaghetti supper to raise money for the stroll. If you cannot walk, please consider helping us with the supper.
If you would like to join us for this terrific day, please call us at 625-1002 or email us at feva430@aol.com.
Thank you,
Jen and Steve

FRIDAY'S PIZZA PARTY enjoyed by many...
"Hello Everyone,
On 4/26, my family will be participating in The Tomorrow Fund Stroll. The Tomorrow Fund is an organization that has become very near and dear to our hearts in recent months. They are the only non-profit organization that provides daily financial and emotional support to children with cancer and their families who are treated at Hasbro Children's Hospital.
"They provide a daily stipend when your child is hospitalized (for food, gas, etc), parking cards for the duration of your child's treatment and educational materials. They staff social workers specializing in childhood cancer. They will pay your bills if you need them to.
"TTF has helped us so much, both emotionally and financially in the past few month. Now we want to help give back to them. HELP US HELP THEM!!!! If you can help, pleas make checks payable to The Tomorrow Fund and get it to us by 4/25."

02.23.09 Assistance is Needed for Ranger Student & Family A Kindergarten student who was recently diagnosed with leukemia will be undergoing treatment at Hasbro Children's Hospital. Several fundraising events have already taken place and more are being planned. In past years, the Walter E. Ranger School has distinguished itself in raising funds for the Heart Association, the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, and others worthy causes. With the same Ranger enthusiasm and resources, we will be helping her family in as many ways as possible.
*This event will be taking place the week of March 9th during Physical Education classes and will be coordinated by our P.E. Teachers, Mr. Ben DelDeo and Mr. Tom Murray. A goal of $5000 has been set. If the goal is reached, the whole school will be treated to a Pizza Party sponsored by Mr. Alan Shawn Feinstein.
